Jesus, during illness or suffering so much natural seems to be to stay at home, avoiding people, saving power. Meanwhile, however, contrary to this if I want to meet You, I have to go out of myself. I need to give up my own schemes, habits, security and go outside, outside of my own problems. That’s when I can meet you, that you’re always on the move and never stops looking for me. O Lord, heal me today of these weaknesses, which separate me from other people.
Saint Rita, the last years of your life you’ve been lonely because of the unpleasant scent coming from the stigma on the forehead. But when you wanted to leave your convent to participate in the pilgrimage to Rome, the wound was miraculously healed at this time. Teach me to make every day a new difficulty for the Lord – even when it seems to me that my suffering now is already too large. Obtain for me the grace of fortitude. A powerful advocate in difficult matters, listen with kindness begging my afflicted heart and obtain for me the grace that I need so desperately. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
